AKAK is a photobook that observes subtle shifts within the urban landscape through the quiet persistence of red. Rather than pointing to a single meaning, red appears as a trace—marking moments of transition that exist between beginnings and endings.
Photographed with a half-frame camera, the images depict calm yet gradually changing scenes. Within restrained compositions, red moves between strength and fragility, creating a gentle rhythm that resonates beneath the surface, like an internal echo rather than a visual statement.
The material form of the book is inseparable from the work itself. The title is hand-painted using a stencil technique and is designed to change over time. Each copy is hand-bound by hand, extending the idea of transformation beyond the images and into the object.
